Rita A. Buedden, President & Creative Director

Rita brings over 30 years of marketing, advertising and research experience to Soaring Bear, Inc.

She started her career as a copywriter for J. Walter Thompson, New York working on One-A-Day Vitamins, new products for Warner-Lambert and new campaigns for Kodak. She increased her responsibilities and expanded her experience at Grey Advertising, New York and Carrafiello-Diehl & Associates before becoming a co-founding partner with Tom Sweeney of Sweeney & Partners. At Sweeney & Partners, Rita headed a creative department responsible for the consumer and professional communications on many Pfizer Consumer Division brands such as Desitin, Rid, Hemorid, and Bonine and the professional work on Visine… as well as the professional work on American Home Products brands such as Dimetapp, Robitussin and Orudis KT… plus various brand assignments from Richardson-Vicks, and more. In 1996, Sweeney & Partners was sold to Bozell Worldwide. Rita became the Group Creative Director & Senior Partner at Bozell Worldwide, New York directing creative for Bozell Worldwide Healthcare until Bozell was acquired by Interpublic.

Rita has, now, established Soaring Bear, Inc to bring her capabilities to healthcare organizations that are looking for a healthcare project partner with senior-level experience.

Tom M. Sweeney, Vice President, Strategic Consultation

Tom has joined Rita in bringing his 35+ years of marketing, research and advertising experience to Soaring Bear, Inc.

Tom started his career at Merck. He was Executive Vice President at Carrafiello-Diehl & Associates for 13 years. Then, in 1983, he established Sweeney & Partners and as CEO directed the marketing, advertising and research strategies, plans and executions for a wide range of healthcare brands at many of the top pharmaceutical companies in the United States. In 1996, after the sale of Sweeney & Partners to Bozell Worldwide, Tom became the Managing Director of Bozell Worldwide Healthcare serving in that capacity until the acquisition of Bozell by Interpublic in 2001.

Tom brings his extensive marketing strategy and category experience exclusiviely to Soaring Bear to provide healthcare organizations with unique senior, top-tier marketing thinking.
